How to Begin at Dominican Literacy Center

If you want to learn to read, spell and write, or to do math, call The Dominican Literacy Center at 313-267-1000 and register for the next orientation. This three hour program will introduce you to Dominican Literacy Center, what we have to offer, and give you ideas on how to get the most out of your study time.  If Dominican Litereacy Center seems to be the right program for you, we will set you up an appointment for an assessment.

An assessment will help determine your skill level. This will enable you to begin at the right place in reading or in English as a Second Language or in Math. 

After establishing a program that meets your goals, you will then be paired with a tutor at a time that is convenient for you. Tutors and the learner meet once a week for two hours.

The Dominican Literacy Center is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. It is open year 'round except for vacation time at Christmas and Easter. Registration is ongoing.

The program is free. There is no other cost.
